Eco Council Planting Project at Ursuline Prep
Our Eco Council came together last week and began planting lots of different plants, vegetables and fruit, in preparation for Gardening Club to begin next term. The Eco Council and all of the children at our school are very passionate about the environment that we live in and continue to educate their peers on how and what we can do as a school community; as well as at home with our families, to protect and look after the environment that we live in.
The Eco Council planted many different types of plants, vegetables and fruits so that they can begin to grow in time for our Gardening Club children. This helps the children to not only explore different foods but to also learn how to grow them over time, it is also very important for the children to understand where food comes from, not just from the supermarket! This planting task helps the children to learn the correct times of the year to plant certain seeds. We teach this in the hope that they carry this life skill on when they leave us but also so that they carry on caring and looking after their world and environment.
It’s always so lovely to share news from our schools so do keep sending it in!
