St Columba’s College raises £1000 for Youth Talk
St Columba’s College, St Albans, held a Christmas Jumper day in December to raise money for Youth Talk, an organisation providing free, confidential counselling to 13-25 year olds in the St Albans area.
The College invited David Barker, CEO of Youth talk to their start of Term Mass to present him with the £1000 cheque and to give him the opportunity to speak to the students and staff. Youth Talk aim to ensure that every local young person has a safe place to talk in confidence, whatever’s on their mind.
The money raised by St Columba’s College will help provide 20 more counselling sessions for the young people in our local community who need the support. With 75% of young people experiencing mental health problems not receiving treatment, the demand for this service is growing.
St Columba’s College would like to congratulate their students and staff for taking part, and supporting this important cause.
