Laleham Lea School Pupils Support Purley Food Hub
Pupils from Laleham Lea School in Purley dropped off their Harvest Festival collection at Purley Food Hub this week to help support families in crisis.
Hundreds of items including pasta, tinned vegetables, baby wipes and toothpaste were donated by Laleham Lea families to the charity who are urgently requesting donations during these challenging times for families.
Ms Barry, Head teacher at Laleham Lea said: “Laleham Lea families are very generous with our charitable giving and local families are in need now more than ever. We hope that this donation helps to play a part in supporting the fantastic work that the Food Hub does for the local community.”
Louise Willmer, Acting Chair of the Food Hub’s Management Committee, said, “We are delighted to have received another huge donation of Harvest food from Laleham Lea and are so grateful to the school’s families and staff for their faithful support once again this year.”
“So far in 2022 we have delivered food for 30,000 meals to local families facing hardship who are often needing to choose between heating and eating. It is directly through the amazing support we receive from schools like Laleham Lea and Churches, businesses, organisations and others, as well as many families and individuals that, together, we can make a real difference to people in real need.”
It’s always so lovely to share news from our schools so do keep sending it in!
