ND6 Rag Week- Let’s Make it a Tradition
The week before half term played host to the first ever ND6 Rag Week- and what a way to end half-term! The week entailed themed days with activities at break and lunch run by the Sixth Form. The week kicked off with Disney Monday, Tuesday the Sixth Form went around the world, Wednesday we were transported to the wild-west dressed as Cowboys and Indians and we finished the week in true party style in carnival inspired costumes. Some of the activities that were on offer included: A Hunt for Prince Charming- where Notre Dame opened its gates to 6 boys, who were definitely made to feel like celebrities for the day. Dangling donuts- where the girls were made to work for their break-time snack, and to end the week we threw a Mini-Fete as part of our carnival theme. The Mini-fete was definitely a highlight of the week with many different stalls ranging from the classic tombola to a sponge the teacher stall, which I have to say attracted much of the attention as the girls got to sponge a few very brave and kind teachers! The week on the whole was a great success and I know everyone in sixth form left for half-term feeling proud of what we had achieved, little did we know the final amount we had raised. So…. a drum roll please……… Thanks to all the girls and staff in the Senior School we managed to raise a staggering £1,077.37! The money raised will be split between Batten Disease UK and The Princess Alice Hospice. This is truly an incredible figure and as the sixth form counted the money we couldn’t quite believe the generosity of everyone to raise such an amount in 4 days. We hope that the ND6 Rag week will become a tradition and who knows how much we may raise in the future!
